So I came across this video and it has been posted years back, but the feels it gives never gets old. Why? Well, it’s because I’m talking about Lea Salonga and Aga Muhlach. The lead actors for the movie “Sana Maulit Muli” that came out in 1995 still have the same effect on fans! Even Aga’s wife, Charlene Gonzales looked like she was giddy with “kilig” as I watched the video. Well, it can’t be discounted that the two actors really have chemistry – one that is lacking in today’s love teams, in my opinion.
Also, the Aga-Lea love team was age-appropriate, meaning they are not high school students whose main problem (in most stories or movies or even TV shows nowadays) are how their love life or lack thereof will be solved. I mean, high school, really? It gets me scared to think of what the children today will see on TV or movies in the coming years.
There have been talks about a reunion movie, and it was supposed to have been in 2016, however, in a press conference back in March this year for “Disney Princess: I Dare to Dream” concert at Mall of Asia, the said project has been shelved and isn’t likely to hit cinemas anytime soon. Oh, what a bummer. I haven’t watched a Tagalog film in a long time. This would have been my “comeback”.
“That’s not happening this year,” she said. “He [Muhlach] is way too busy playing golf and travelling the world, checking out really amazing art, and watching his wife run marathons. So you know what, I think we have to let him live his life for a while.”
Lea Salonga said she’ll have her hands full with concerts and a coaching stint on “The Voice Teens” this 2017.
Asked if it had been simply pushed to next year, she replied: “We may all be in for a very long, long, long wait.”
The reunion movie was first announced by Star Cinema back in 2015, but has been in limbo since.
