The Name’s Bond. James Bond. Who Is the Next Bond?

James Bond

According to a report by Page Six, producer Barbara Broccoli is trying to convince Daniel Craig to reprise the role of the of the tuxedo-clad sexy spy James Bond despite her infamous remarks when he said he would rather “slash his wrists” than star as 007 again.

Tom Hiddleston has been tipped as a likely candidate for Bond, after all, he has some experience playing the spy Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager. However, the actor is believed to be out of the running. The Bond boss is said not to be much of a Hiddleston fan, and said: “he’s a bit too smug and not tough enough to play Bond.” Did the much-publicized romance with Taylor Swift have some effect for his supposed future as James Bond? Well, rumor has it that it’s one of the reasons.

It also didn’t help that Hiddleston attracted some bad press when he gave a speech during the Golden Globe Awards. He began by giving tribute to the humanitarian workers of Sudan, but somehow, he turned it around and made it into a self-righteous speech. It didn’t impress the media, more so the Bond producer.

Craig, however, as been a favorite of Broccoli to play the British spy, and reports are circulating that the actor has been offered $15o million to return to the thriller franchise. It was said that the actor has finally said yes after the success of Othello, the off-Broadway production where they worked together.

Should things go in the right direction, Craig would be the second actor to play Bond the longest, after Sir Roger Moore. Moore spent 12 years playing the spy in seven films, while Craig has been with the franchise since 2005.

Daniel Craig as James Bond? Well, I couldn’t think of anyone else better than him right now.
